What is a Social Tariff?

The Social Tariff is aimed at customers struggling with paying their water bills. It offers discounts on water bills to low-income households that meet certain criteria. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, you may be eligible for support through a social tariff.

The Social Tariff will take effect from the beginning of the charge period in which the application is approved, and it must be renewed annually.

Am I eligible for the Social Tariff?

Last Mile Water mirrors the social tariff schemes offered by the incumbent water companies in each region. Eligibility is typically based on factors such as:

  • Household income
  • Receipt of certain benefits
  • Financial vulnerability or exceptional circumstances
